Lauder Class of 2019 Graduate Profiles

Medora Brown, Africa/Francophone

“After graduation, I will be joining the Nairobi, Kenya, office of Dalberg Advisors, an international-development-focused management consulting firm. I interned at Dalberg last summer, and I was in Nairobi before school, so I am excited to be returning to both a city I know well and a firm I am excited to get to know better. Finally, I am most thrilled by the opportunity to work with and support a wide variety of organizations dedicated to creating positive impact across the African continent, and I look forward to applying my Lauder regional and language learnings in my work every day.”

Karl Chan, Global Program

“In September 2019, I will be joining the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector investing arm of the World Bank Group, as an Associate Investment Officer. The IFC provides private equity, debt, and mezzanine financing across emerging markets. I will be a part of the IFC’s Young Professional Program, its flagship leadership program, based in Washington DC.

Before I start at the IFC, I will be working for GLO.travel, an early-stage startup in the tourism space in Hong Kong that advocates cultural, knowledge-based tourism. They cover uncommon destinations from North Korea to Armenia. The internship was made possible through the Lauder Leadership Immersion Internship program.”

Gracian Kamgang, Africa/French

After Wharton/Lauder, Gracian will join the Amazon Pathways Operations program. The objective of the program is to prepare and develop Pathways to be Amazon’s next General Managers, Directors, and Vice Presidents. One of his first main focuses will be to lead and develop his team of up to 150 hourly associates, working to maintain the highest levels of safety, quality, attendance performance and engagement.

Julia Madden, East and Southeast Asia/Mandarin

After graduation, Julia will be a Research Analyst at Gramercy Funds, an investment manager focused exclusively on emerging markets debt. She is grateful to Lauder for helping her find a job at the intersection of international trade, geopolitics, and finance.

Lily Rogath, Europe/French

“After graduation, I will be joining ZX Ventures, the venture and innovation arm of Anheuser-Busch InBev in New York City. During my internship at ZX last summer, I had the opportunity to build and pitch an exciting new beverage product for the company which will be launched this year. Before school, I lived in Paris and London, working in the art world and on my own entrepreneurial venture respectively. I am looking forward to getting to know New York City and living near my family, while also gaining broader experience at a large corporation. I am certain that my Lauder education will be extremely helpful as AB InBev is a broadly international company.”

Ben Roth, East & Southeast Asia/Mandarin

Ben will be working to bring sustainable, renewably-sourced products to global markets in a marketing and strategy role with DuPont Biomaterials. With consumers increasingly aware of the climate and pollution impacts of their buying habits, the market for more environmentally friendly materials is growing quickly. Ben is excited to begin work in Europe, Asia and the Americas to accelerate the use of innovative, sustainable materials across a range of industries.
