Recent LIAA Events

Bay Area Lauder Reunion/Beach Party

On July 23, Lauder alumni met in the Bay Area for an afternoon of sun and fun at Eric & Holli Bohren's beach house in Santa Cruz, CA. Special thanks go to Eric ('97) & Holli Bohren for generously sponsoring this event.

Breakfast with Leonard Lauder in London

On June 10, over 40 Lauder alumni gathered at the Savoy Hotel in London to have breakfast with and hear remarks from Leonard Lauder. Also in attendance were Dr. Richard Herring, Lauder Institute Governor The Honorable Barbara Thomas and other distinguished guests. This event was held in conjunction with the Wharton Global Alumni Forum 2005: London.

Lecture by Ambassador Soderberg in New York

On May 17, LIAA joined forces with Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs International Security Policy (ISP) Alumni Association and the Center for Emerging National Security Affairs (CENSA) to host a lecture with Amb. Nancy Soderberg, a former National Security Council and United Nations official in the Clinton Administration. Ambassador Soderberg introduced her new book The Superpower Myth and offered some candid, off-the-record observations about foreign policy in both Democratic and Republican administrations. More than a dozen Lauder Institute alumni took part in the 70-person session, which was held at the Institute for International Peace at the United Nations in New York.

Alumni/Students Gathering in DC

On April 1, about 20 Lauder Institute alumni gathered together with some 35 current Lauder students for a night of drinks and conversation at The Circle Bistro in Washington, DC. The night provided a great opportunity for DC-area Lauder alumni to reconnect and for the alumni and students to get to know one another. Watch for this event to become an annual LIAA tradition!
